About Us
The Goa Handicrafts Rural & Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC LTD), a Government of Goa Undertaking was established in 1980. GHRSSIDC is registered under the Companies Act, 1956. The main mandate of this Corporation is to promote and market handicrafts items, supply goods to Government/Corporation, Autonomous Bodies under Preferential Purchase Scheme, Training Scheme to Artisan and unemployed youth, conduct Melas and Exhibitions, and provide subsidies to Clay Idol Makers.
An artisan is a skilled craftsperson who creates unique, handmade products using traditional techniques and tools. Unlike mass production, artisan work emphasizes quality, creativity, and attention to detail, often passed down through generations.
