Organizing Aparant Maand BJP Government is always in the fore front to help Goan Artisans and always works towards the development of Artisans of Goa. Several majors have been implemented and initiative taken for supporting Goan artisans particularly those who are involved in traditional craft and handloom industries to give platform and reorganization to Goan Artisans. First Aparant Maand was initiated by the BJP Government during the tenure of Hon'ble Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar and dynamism leadership of Shri Damodar Naik, Chairman GHRSSIDC. GHRSSIDC have organized several Aparant Maands in various parts of Goa. First Aparant Maand wad organized in the year 2001 at Margao and the last Aparant Maand was organised in the year 2018. Due to Covid pandemic it was not organised. Now, under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and also efforts taken by Dr. Ajay R. Gaude, the Managing Director, GHRSSIDC have taken several steps to promote and upliftment of artisans and one among them is Aparant Maand which to be held at Bodgeshwar Ground, Mapusa-Goa from 31.03.2025 to 04.04.2025.

The Exhibition aims to promote and preserve the traditional handicraft of Goa offering platform for local artisans and the stalls are at free of cost. This exhibition will features an extensive display and sale of Handicraft including Bamboo Craft, Sea Shell Craft, Terracotta Pottery, Woodcarving. Coconut craft Brass Work, crochet, Kunbi products and coir products and also live demonstration of pottery from permanent potters over hundred artisans across the Gou will participate, presenting their unique creation that blend indigenous technique with influence from Goa's Portuguese legacy. Visitors can expect to see diverse range of items such as handwoven textiles. intricately designed jewellery, home decor and eco-friendly souvenir, all crafted with precision and passion.

The recent announcement in the Goa Budget 2025 highlight the specific majors to bolster the handicraft sector. Government plans to introduce Kunbi cloth a traditional Goan textile which will benefit for the Goan handicraft artisans.

Under the National Handloom Development Programme, the Goa Handcrafts Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd., Panaji-Goa is in the process of developing Kunbi Craft Village at Ugem-Salaulim village, Sanguem-Goa". The area of project is 16500 sq. mtrs., with six structures of 164 sq. mtrs. built-up area for Kunbi artisans/master craftsmen to stay and demonstrate their products. An Art Gallery admeasuring 150 sq.mtrs., wherein artisans can display and sell their products. Three structures of 300 sq. mtrs, wherein artisans can be trained in house in kunbi craft and stay. One structure, 350 sq. mtrs. each of 3 floors wherein artisans can get training and 200 artisans can stay, at a time. One block with six toilets admeasuring 64 sq.mtrs., which can accommodate many artisans at a time.

The Goa Government 2025-26 Budget presented by the Hon'ble Chief Minister includes specific allocation aim at supporting Goan Artisans, notably 34.00 crores has been allotted for Handicrafts and promotion of Kunbi craft and Rs. 13.27 crores has been allotted to GHRSSIDC for the development of Handicraft sectors, alongside to introduce new schemes to booster the handicraft sector, this major reflects an efforts to support traditional artisans and enhance their economic opportunities within the State.
